Faith Erosion by Counterfeit Medicine ‘Time to Take Action’

Introduction:

Abstract: Counterfeit medicines have grown to a level of an organized crime industry which is making the people to lose faith in medicines. Manufacturers, Doctors, Pharmacists and Patients are worst hit stake holders and government and regulators are losing reputation and becoming ineffective. The Counterfeiters are hiding and doing their heinous activities for the sake of financial gain are escaping the punishment as they operate in a clandestine manner. India is infamous for being the den for counterfeit medicine. It is high time for all the stake holders to put a combined effort to combat and control counterfeit medicines in a effective manner. Time has come to punish the guilty and restore the public faith in medicine quality and efficacy.
