Emerging Trends in Diabetic Treatment and Research

Introduction: In spite of much scientific advancement in the field of medical science till date, diabetes mellitus is considered as a non-curable syndrome and is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality. Many therapeutic approaches are now available for the treatment of diabetes and management of itís pathophysiological complications. However, so far nothing has been proved completely safe & effective. Diabetes prevention interventions to disadvantaged groups are a challenging public health priority. There should be well-balanced management among patient, health care provider, and at the health care set up in order to address all the challenges involved in delivering diabetes prevention services in the deprived community. With the advancement of molecular biology, many areas of research have been opened up to find out much better patient compliance treatment that may be the well accepted for complete cure from this deadly disease in the years to come. This article deals with the present therapeutic approaches and limitations as well as recent advancements in the field of diabetes research.
