Antimicrobial Efficacy Study of Disinfectant Imagard ID-401

Introduction: This study was aimed to find out the antimicrobial activity of Disinfectant IMAGARD ID-401, manufactured and marketed by IMAGO & GETTER. The antimicrobial efficacy was determined by British Standard methods BS EN 1040:2005 and BS EN 1650:1998. The test organisms used include standard strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. Two different concentration of disinfectant showed excellent log reduction against the test organisms. The log reduction of >5 and percentage reduction of >99 was obtained against the test organisms. The results proved that Disinfectant IMAGARD ID-401 was most effective against the test organisms. Disinfectant for external uses is necessary to avoid related infections or diseases caused by these test microorganisms.
